The Cold Wallet ERS Backup Download feature offers users a secure method for creating and maintaining backup copies of their Emergency Recovery System. This process ensures that users can safeguard against the total loss of cryptocurrency stored in cold wallets.

Note:

• To use the Cold Wallet ERS Backup Download feature, ensure your cold wallet is paired with a hot wallet. To pair the wallets, please follow the steps here.
• The key Backup process has to be done right after the master key of the cold side is generated.
• If you use two nodes for the cold wallet configuration, both nodes must participate in this key backup process.

How to Backup Master Key in Cold Wallet

To backup the master key in a cold wallet, follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to your cold wallet that has been paired with a hot wallet.

2. Select the Settings menu on the main navigation bar.

3. Click the Backup Key button on the top-right of your screen.

4. Your browser will download the backup key in .JSON format.
